Ceramic floors can never be missing from any property in the world. They are ideal for kitchens and bathrooms and even for the entire home or office. Ceramic tile is present on all floors and sometimes on the walls as well.

This is because it is simple: ceramic floors are varied in their types and models; they adapt to any use and surface and can be placed both indoors and outdoors. In addition, their costs fit any pocket and they are very durable and resistant.

However, like everything else in life, ceramic floors or tiles, as they are also known, tend to get dirty, scratched or deteriorated if they are not properly cleaned and maintained.

Therefore, we want to give you a series of tips to learn how to clean your ceramic surfaces so that they are always shiny, clean and bright despite the weather.

First things first

The first thing you should take into account is that there are countless surface cleaning products on the market and they are all suitable for your ceramic floors. Therefore, you should check in the packaging description if you can use them or not, taking into account the color, pH, among other things.

Why? What can go wrong?

Some products tend to be very strong and can stain and discolor your tiles. So, read the label carefully. Generally, products inform you which surfaces and colors are suitable.

Let’s get started!

  1. Once you have chosen your ideal product as a first step, it’s time to sweep. It is important to remove the dust from the surface. You can do this with a broom or, in the best case, a vacuum cleaner. If it’s a wall, use a duster. Be sure to remove all dust and dirt.
  2. Once finished, take a bucket with warm water and mix it with the product you chose. Remember that the portion is a cup for a full bucket.
  3. Now, it’s time for what is commonly known as “mopping the floor”. That is, use a microfiber or cotton cloth moistened with the water from the bucket and mop the floor to remove all the dirt and shine. Repeat the process several times.

Fact: Keep in mind that using hard bristle brushes like other abrasive tools can scratch your floors.

  • Clean the grid or separation between the tiles, ideally using a fine brush (like a toothbrush).
  • Finally, take another clean microfiber or cotton cloth, moistened with fresh water to mop the floor one last time. If you want your floor to be even more shiny, polish it with a dry cloth.

A ceramic floor can be cleaned this way once or twice a week. However, it is recommended to sweep or vacuum it every morning or at the end of the day to keep it always clean and pleasing to the eye.

– Ceramic floors are beautiful, resistant and durable as long as they are cleaned properly.

* Take the cloth and mop it.
